Limon Fire Rescue

The Limon Fire & Rescue, officially known as the Limon Area Fire Protection District (LAFPD), is an all-volunteer fire department serving the Town of Limon and surrounding communities in Lincoln and Elbert counties of eastern Colorado. Known as the "Hub City" due to Limon's location at the junction of Interstate 70 and several major U.S. highways, the department protects more than 400 square miles of residential, agricultural, commercial, and transportation corridors. Limon Fire & Rescue provides all-hazards emergency response including structural and wildland fire suppression, vehicle extrication, technical rescue, mutual aid, fire prevention, and community education. The department works closely with neighboring fire agencies, the Limon Ambulance Service, Colorado State Patrol, and the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office to provide emergency services throughout the region. Staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers, the department continues a tradition of community service that has lasted for more than a century.
