Kit Carson County Sheriff's Office

The Kit Carson County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency serving Kit Carson County, Colorado, a largely rural county on Colorado's Eastern Plains. The Sheriff's Office provides comprehensive public safety services for the county's unincorporated areas and works closely with the Burlington Police Department and neighboring law enforcement agencies. KCSO is responsible for patrol operations, criminal investigations, detention services, court security, civil process, emergency communications (dispatch), emergency management, victim advocacy, and concealed handgun permit administration. Deputies patrol more than 2,100 square miles of agricultural land, highways, and small communities, responding to a wide variety of calls while maintaining a strong commitment to community-oriented policing and public safety.
