The Manitou Springs Fire Department (MSFD) is a combination fire and emergency services department serving Manitou Springs, Colorado, at the base of Pikes Peak. The department provides fire suppression, EMS, ambulance transport, wildland firefighting, high- and low-angle rescue, and fire prevention. It operates 24/7 with career firefighters supported by approximately 30–40 volunteers. The department has a long history dating back to December 18, 1879, when Manitou Springs organized its first fire company. Today, MSFD operates from one fire station and maintains specialized apparatus for both urban and mountain/wildland emergencies.
